Privacy Policy

Protecting your personal data is very important to me – especially in psychotherapy, where confidentiality is the foundation of all our work together. In this privacy policy I inform you about which personal data are processed when you visit this website and when you get in touch. Processing is based on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).

1. Controller

Dr Theresa J. S. Wallner
Karmeliterplatz 5/4, 1020 Vienna, Austria
Phone: +43 670 6565944
Email: info@psychotherapie-theresawallner.at

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.

When you visit this website, technical information transmitted by your browser is collected automatically (so-called server log files). This includes in particular:

  • IP address
  • date and time of access
  • page or file accessed
  • browser type and version, operating system
  • referrer URL (previously visited page)

These data are technically necessary to provide the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log files are deleted after 30 days. These data may remain stored in website backups for up to 7 weeks; after that, the backups are automatically overwritten. The data are not combined with any other data.

3. Cookies and caching

This website does not use cookies for analytics, tracking or advertising purposes. A server-side cache (LiteSpeed Cache) is used to speed up loading times; no personal profiles are created in the process. Technically necessary cookies may only be set in connection with the administration of the website (login to the admin area).

4. Contact by email or phone

If you contact me by email or phone, I process the data you provide (e.g. name, contact details, content of your enquiry) in order to handle your request and, where applicable, arrange an appointment. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures). If you provide information about your health, processing is based on Art. 9(2)(h) GDPR and is subject to the statutory duty of confidentiality under the Psychotherapy Act.

Please note that communication by unencrypted email may have security gaps. You are therefore welcome to share sensitive matters with me only in a personal conversation.

Your enquiries will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required and no statutory retention obligations apply. If psychotherapeutic treatment takes place, the professional retention obligations apply to the documentation; I will inform you about this separately.

5. Fonts

The fonts used on this website are loaded locally from my web server. No connection is made to servers of Google or other third-party providers.

6. Google Maps

A map from Google Maps can be displayed on the “Contact” page. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The map is only loaded when you actively click on “Show map”. No data are transmitted to Google before that.

After your click, data such as your IP address, date and time, and information about your browser are transmitted to Google; Google may also set cookies in the process. A transfer to the USA is possible. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you give by clicking. Further information can be found in Google’s privacy policy.

7. Your rights

In principle, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. To do so, please use the contact details above.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.

8. Changes

This privacy policy will be adapted as necessary to changes in legal or technical circumstances. The version published on this website applies.

Last updated: October 2026. This English translation is provided for convenience; in case of doubt, the German version applies.
